Cell for Human Rights and Justice
ABOUT CHRAJ
The Cell for Human Rights and Justice (CHRAJ) was instituted for the purpose of raising awareness about the various facets of human rights laws as is recognized in India and around the world. CHRAJ is a recognized Cell of the University with Prof. (Dr.) Uday Pratap Singh as faculty advisor. CHRAJ has been active for the past three years in organizing documentary screenings and lectures by eminent personalities on the rights of the LGBT and other pressing human rights issues.
ACHIEVEMENTS
· The Cell has collaborated with several local NGO’s working for the cause of the Bhopal Gas Tragedy victims such as Chingari and the Sambhavna Trust since 2013.
· In 2013, CHRAJ organized a guest lecture by Sathinath Sarangi, who was recognized as The Man of the Year by The Week in 2010.
· In 2013, has also collaborated with Pune-based NGO Yugpath as well as the Human Rights Law Network in conducting awareness drives with respect to human rights issues.
· CHRAJ has conducted research surveys in the nearby village of Mindori on issues of domestic violence and women’s rights.
