ABOUT CBCL
The Centre for Business and Commercial Law is a UGC accredited body of the University that came into being in the year 2008 with an aim of facilitating corporate awareness and research. It provides an avenue for exploring the world of corporate and commercial laws. The Centre has successfully been publishing a corporate e- Journal and organizes regular guest lectures, delivered by experts in the field of business law and Corporate Discussion Series (“CDS”) on a weekly basis for updating the students with the development of law in this subject.
ACHIEVEMENTS
· Organized the first edition of the CBCL-TRA Contract Drafting and Negotiation Competition in 2015 in association with Tanikella Rastogi Associates (TRA), New Delhi.
· Guest Session on Contract Drafting by Mr. Anirudh Rastogi, Partner, Tanikella Rastogi Associates, New Delhi- September 2014
· Guest Session on Capital Market Transactions by Mr. Reuben George Chacko, Senior Associate, Amarchand Mangaldass, Bengaluru- November 2014
· Guest lecture on Introduction to Taxation by Ms. Shruti Sinha Rauniyar, former Tax Consultant, Deloitte, New Delhi- February 2015
· Guest lecture by Chris Parsons, Partner at Herbert Smith–Freehills and Chairman of its India Group in 2012.
· In 2012, the Cell organized Conference on International Commercial Arbitration and published a journal on the same, in collaboration with the UGC.
About the CBCL Corporate Law Journal
CBCL Corporate Law e-Journal (Quarterly Publication by Student Body) Corporate Law Journal is the University's peer reviewed e-journal dedicated to research in business related laws such as corporate, taxation and intellectual property laws. Currently in its fifth year of publication, it has published research articles received from law students across the country. The fourth edition consisted of 7 articles on topics ranging from competition law, corporate fraud, class actions suits and topics related to the new Companies Act.
