Debating Society
The NLIU Debating Society is arguably one of the best in the Indian debating circuit. The DebSoc bears the responsibility of organizing internal debate selections. This determines the Freshers Pool as well as the National Debate Pool, to whom national and international debates are oriented. The DebSoc also organizes regular debates on thought-provoking motions to improve the standard of debating and adjudication, in both the Asians style as well as the British Parliamentary format.
The NLIU Debate :
The NLIU Debate, now running into its fourth edition, is one of the flagship events hosted by the University. Based on the Asian style Parliamentary Debate( that is the 3-on-3 format), the NLIU Debate attracts debaters from all over the country, particularly the hubs of Indian debating, such as Delhi University and the south-circuit. The Debate has grown rapidly in terms of competitiveness and quality of both debating as well as adjudication. Known for its innovative motions as well as impeccable hospitality, the NLIU Debate has become a regular on the debating calendar of most prominent colleges.
Achievements :
The debating culture has become more prominent amongst the students of the University and the Debating Society plans to venture out into the other colleges in the region. The DebSoc has brought many laurels to the University, with student proving their mettle at national as well as the international level:
